An NBN lead-in route connects the network pit or property entry point to the building. The route should be short, protected and easy for the communications contractor to use. On established Sydney properties, the biggest issue is often crossing an existing driveway, footpath or garden without damaging it.
Before excavation, confirm the pit location, property entry, conduit type, route length and bend requirements. A straight underbore can be a better fit than open trenching for a single driveway crossing, while trenching may be needed through a garden or along a boundary.
Leave the conduit clean, capped and ready for the cable contractor. Record the route and any changes so the next crew does not have to rediscover the path.
